this page introduce you how to make your own texture fit to gysb.
we will use free-software, gimp and blender.
Ability of working on gimp is needed to accomplish.
since not sure about compatibility, plz try use same or closer version. ( this page based on gimp 2.6.6 and blender 2.48a )
download UVmap
This archive contains 2 files "gysb_deck_UV_0181.xcf" and "gysb_deck_UV_0181.blend"
wclick "gysb_deck_UV_0181.xcf" to boot up gimp. Then you can start painting (in orage area).
when you finish with painting, we going to populate bottom part to right-part.
4-1. activate [guide] layer.
4-2. pick bottom part ( bit darker ) with fazzy-selector.
4-3. then activate [yourTextureHere] layer again, and copy it, and paste it.
4-4. move pasted-floating-selection to right upper area, then adjust it to guide exactly patiantly.
4-5. set canvas size with options shown in picture below.
4-6. save image as tga file-format (size must be 1024 x 1024).
our tga-image-file should look like this, square, and no [guide].
( this is not yet ready to upload into secondlife )
wclick "gysb_deck_UV_0181.blend" to boot up blender.
,then load your tga file made in previous.
switch panels to [Editing].
next, find UVTex in [Mesh] panel, press 2 buttons besides.
next, switch [Object Mode] -> [Edit Mode] in left window.
and then, press [Image] -> [New..] in right window.
[OK] on small dialogue.
bake texture by selecting [Render]->[Bake Render Meshes]->[Texture Only]
baked :) save baked texture in right window.
baked texture must look like this (bit winding)
your texture is now ready to upload into secondlife. :^)
